Project Overview
Network Homes has transformed the former Neasden print works into 74 new affordable homes for local people with 47 homes for shared ownership and 27 for affordable rent. The Printworks Apartments is the first time Network Homes has used offsite construction methods and specifically a cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure.
The majority of the building work took place in a factory before being delivered to site and then craned into position. This has minimised the environmental impact and disturbance to local residents and importantly, reduced build time and costs.
The Printworks Apartments has greatly improved the surrounding public area, creating a more attractive and safer environment for local residents and pedestrians walking towards the nearby recreation grounds and Brent reservoir.
The 74 homes consist of one, two and three bedroom apartments and maisonettes. The apartments are distributed between two blocks separated by a generous communal landscaped garden for residents to use. The whole development has provided a much needed lift for the area and is a fine example of how offsite construction methods can deliver high quality homes quickly and efficiently.
