Project Overview
ModuleCo Healthcare (MCH), alongside its manufacturing partner ModuleCo, has successfully delivered phase one of construction work for the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) in Birmingham, creating a contemporary three-storey modular theatre and ward complex.
Two operating theatres, a six-bed recovery suite and a 12-bed inpatient ward were handed over in December 2019. Phase two of work, which will add two more theatres and an 8-bed ward in single, en-suite bedrooms, has been agreed and is due for completion in December 2020.
The project has delivered significant benefits for the Trust including:
• Increasing theatre capacity by 20%
• Allowing the hospital to see 1,300 more patients annually
• Creating approximately 70 new jobs
• Reducing waiting times for hip and knee replacements
MCH provided a flexible finance solution via a long-term rental agreement for the building, including the enabling works and provision of equipment into one affordable monthly fee to suit the budget.
MCH and ModuleCo are modular construction experts, with impressive design and technical capabilities that helped create a therapeutic environment. Over the last 20 years, the teams have delivered 135 specialist healthcare projects for NHS Trusts.
