Project Overview
Caledonian Modular has completed a striking new £2.5m sports complex for Ashville College, Harrogate, on only a 20 week schedule, and within budget.
The striking design surpassed the schools expectations and features a projecting entrance pod, and a large, open area gymnasium space with full height windows to maximise natural light. The design demonstrates how Caledonian is pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with its offsite construction.
The architects were looking to create a seamless link with the surrounding college campus and Caledonian was able to demonstrate how this could be accomplished by presenting 3D visuals at early design stage.
Ashville College Sports Complex was challenging because it was positioned between two existing buildings, and within a live school site, itself situated within an established built up neighbourhood. The project was therefore on a very precise footprint. As a result, the accuracy of design and installation were key factors taken into account before the college chose an off-site solution from Caledonian.
All work was completed on time, within budget and before the new school term began in September. A major reason for achieving these contractual obligations was Caledonian's SMAR
