Project Overview

East Village No.6 is a £179 million residential development forming part of the re-imagined 2012 Olympic Village in Stratford, London. The development comprises 524 No. apartments arranged across two towers, at 26 and 31 storeys, and two 10 storey pavilions.

This project presented many constraints, being located within an existing residential area, with a restricted build compound and a rapid turnaround time. These constraints necessitated a shortened build programme with minimal on-site works, minimal on-site material storage and minimised disruption to the local neighbourhood.

Based on site constraints, Alternative Heat in-house teams collaborated with the M&E and main contractors from preliminary stage to incorporate and maximise the utilisation of prefabrication to shorten build programme, maximise labour and material efficiencies, minimise H&S risks and optimise product quality and space utilisation.

This resulted in project scope to deliver comprehensive design, off-site prefabrication, fixing and integration of the complete prefabricated MEP shell and core package to include:
-6 Skid mounted plant modules
-172 Mechanical, public health, tenant & landlord LV and communication risers
-248 MEP laterals
-698 Utility cupboards
