Developer Urban Splash and architect Shedkm have sent in plans for 84 more pre-fab apartments in New Islington, Manchester.
The latest scheme, called Mansion hOUse, has been drawn up after an initial 43-homes using offsite methods at the development sold out.
Under the plans, customers choose the size of their property, either 1,000 or 1,500sq ft, and then tell the architect what layout they want.
Homes covering the smaller of the two sizes were selling for £200,000 but demand has now pushed that price up to £275,000.
Urban Splash head of residential sales Guy Ackernley said: “[The idea] caught the attentions of customers in Manchester for two reasons; one because it is a head-turning concept that gave the generation of Grand Designs fans control of their layout, but secondly because there’s long been an appetite for some form of family home in the city centre.”
