The UK Version of the 2021 The Little Green Book of Concrete was officially launched during Precast Week and is now available for download. This year’s edition is part of a European precast sector collaboration, headed by BIBM, bringing together sustainability professionals from multiple European countries to update the little books messages for a new decade. The original edition of the book was published by the British Precast Concrete Federation (BPCF) in 2008.
The ‘pocket-sized’ book outlines not only the sustainable advantages of precast concrete, but also the engagement of the industry to provide more sustainable, circular and decarbonized solutions for the built environment. The Little Green Book covers a range of topics including precast’s low carbon footprint, resilience to climate change and its role in supporting a circular economy. It outlines what precast concrete can offer to the architect, the engineer, the client, the financier, and the insurer by summarising over one hundred advantages of using the material.
