Trio win £2bn CHIC offsite housing framework

9th October, 2020

Midlands and southern housing procurement group, Central Housing Investment Consortium, has picked three firms for its modular housing framework.

The procurement consortium of more than 60 housing associations and local authorities is collectively responsible for more than 600,000 homes.

Firms taking the spots are: Peterborough’s Impact Modular, Module-AR from Hull and Elements Europe based in Shropshire.

The initial contracts will be let for a period of five years, however CHIC will have the option to extend the contract by two subsequent periods of 5 years, subject to performance, up to an overall total contract term of 15 years.

CHIC estimates the total potential spend could be around £2bn for its partners.

Impact Modular will provide solutions for a mix of houses, flats and bungalows, including full site services for small schemes.

Module-AR will carry out a similar mix of housing types, while also offering full site construction services for all schemes.

Elements Europe will carry out multi-apartment and high rise new build solutions.
