Structherm owner announces name change to Forterra

26th January, 2016

Hanson Building Products, of which external wall insulation experts Structherm were a division of, has changed its company name to Forterra, following a recent divestment by former owners HeidelbergCement.

The rebranding brings a fresh identity to the established business, which has a trading history spanning back several decades, while its wide selection of products and services, including Structherm, will remain unchanged.

Forterra, which operates in North America and the United Kingdom, makes a diverse range of building products, including clay bricks, aggregate blocks, chimneys, roofing and flue systems and precast concrete.

Structherm is based at one of 18 manufacturing facilities across the UK owned by the Northampton based company.

Janicke Aitken, General Manager of Structherm, said; “As part of this rebranding, Structherm has a new logo and strapline which re-emphasises our company’s expertise in structural insulated facades and our unique Structural External Wall Insulation (SWEI) system.”

Stephen Harrison, UK Managing Director of Forterra, said; “The Hanson name and logo may have been replaced by Forterra, but this is a change of branding only.

“We remain committed to the excellence and integrity recognised by our customers and the construction industry in general, and we want to use this rebranding to reinforce our values.”

Forterra’s new name is effective immediately, and will be implemented across the company’s building products, services and communications over the coming months.

Structherm, is the only provider of a structural external wall insulation system, and with over 30 years’ experience in treating varying non-traditional property types, including metal frame, timber frame, in-situ and pre-cast concrete, Structherm has built up a wealth of technical knowledge and provides a comprehensive range of systems.
