Northampton-based Fusion Building Systems, which specialises in the offsite design, manufacture and production of light gauge steel superstructures for the construction and housing industries, has appointed Declan Cullen and Steve Alder to its senior management team.
As a practiced industry consultant with an impressive 15 years as head of operations for Taylor Wimpey’s timber frame company Prestoplan, Cullen joins Fusion as head of construction.
He said: “Having worked in offsite construction for many years, I have a thorough understanding of the synergies between timber and steel frame manufacturing, and know Fusion’s product is the best in the market. The pace of growth the company has experienced over the past five years is remarkable and I’m excited to be part of its future journey.
“In my role I hope to help bring offsite construction to the forefront of the supply chain, shaping the way developments are conceived and planned, whilst continuing to see Fusion deliver an excellent product and increase its output”.
Alder is Fusion’s new manufacturing operations manager. He joins the business from Paintbox, a supplier of just-in-time (JIT) painted solutions for the automotive supply chain. He said: “I’m looking forward to helping Fusion achieve maximum efficiency in its factory and communicate detailed methodologies, processes and production planning to clients”.
Alder will work closely with Cullen to bring the benefits of factory process to the building site environment.
In addition to the appointments of Cullen and Alder, Fusion has recruited Persimmon’s former head of design Toby Bolt as technical manager, Peter Boyd from Innovare as commercial manager, Nikki Appiah from Travis Perkins as designer, Paul Lomas from Stewart Milne as pre-construction designer, and Lloyd Harden from Tingdene Homes as design team leader.
