New UK schools to be built throughout 2015

11th March, 2015

The McAvoy Group has £75 million worth of projects planned for 2015 after being named a principal contractor under the Crown Commercial Service framework and funded by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to build nine new schools.

The schools, which are located in the South of England and across Greater London, are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015 and the start of 2016.

Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy is one of the schools which has been targeted for a rebuild.

The new building will be larger, reaching 9,000 square metres. This is to give the school the chance to expand its education provision into Key Stages 3 and 4.

Another example is Goresbrook School, which will receive a new primary and secondary school on the site of a soon-to-be-demolished leisure centre.

As part of this project, Goresbrook School’s existing sports hall will also be renovated and refurbished.
Other school projects include Walthamstow Academy in London and Meridian Angel Primary School, which will benefit from a Primary, Secondary and Special Education Provision.

The McAvoy Group, which uses offsite methods of construction, has secured preferred bidder status on many of EFA’s school contracts.
Because of this, the company has entered 2015 with £75 million worth of new orders: it hopes that this will help it expand on the £34 million turnover it achieved in 2014.
