Castlecomer has received the best Christmas present for years. A new factory which will employ 20 people within three months is up and running, manufacturing platforms for the pharmaceutical, cell therapy and medical device industries.
“It’s terrific to buck the trend, creating jobs in rural Ireland,” said Cllr Maurice Shortall. “Great credit to John Comerford and Kevin Brennan, joint CEOs of the PrimusPod Group, for their confidence in Castlecomer,” he added.
Hopes are high that the number of jobs at the facility will quadruple over the next 12 months.
In a statement, joint CEOs, John Comerford and Kevin Brennan said: "Our newly refurbished manufacturing facility is at the very cutting edge of offsite construction for controlled environment, clean rooms plus mechanical and electrical spaces. This is very much reflective in our investment of state of the art manufacturing equipment and our investment in the Mill’s building its self.
Giving our employee, including our clients a modern, comfortable and vibrant workspace. It’s vital that we deliver a high quality product and service, whilst enriching our local community of Castlecomer by delivering local employment”.
They will be in full manufacturing by mid to the end of January 2018 and are now actively recruiting: BIM technicians; Mechanical Designers with BIM experience, Electrical designers with BIM experience, Welders, Sheet metal fabricators, Pipe fitters, Electricians, HVAC engineers
