In the face of continuing restrictions, the online events calendar is increasingly saturated. Yet TRADA's first online learning session, which took place on 14 January, has been hailed a roaring success – with over 250 attendees tuning in to learn about demonstrating and specifying the performance of timber fire-resisting doorsets.
TRADA's raison d'etre is helping people learn about timber. The recent launch of Learn with TRADA Live – an expansion of TRADA's regular email series on specialist timber topics – is a new, modern offshoot to that aim.
TRADA has maintained a very broad construction community since its establishment in 1934; Learn with TRADA Live, which takes advantage of the recent mass acceptance of online learning methods, proves that this community is hungry to learn about and build more with timber.
Learn with TRADA Live covers a cross-section of timber topics. To facilitate the learning journey for both regular and occasional attendees, related webinar sessions are further grouped into series. Until May, the premier series will focus on critical industry issues such as fire safety design and post-Brexit regulations. A second series, which launches in July, hones in on the fundamentals of timber.
Delivered by BM TRADA/Warringtonfire and external experts, these sessions are a great opportunity to pose questions to some of the industry's leading minds.
Rupert Scott, TRADA's Membership and Marketing Manager, said: "We have been delighted by the response to Learn with TRADA Live. The shift towards online learning is a remarkable one, and a welcome opportunity to add to TRADA's growing membership offering. The questions we received in our first webinar alone were substantial. I'm looking forward to seeing how our audience challenges our timber experts next."
Attendee David Hallam, Joinery Technical and Certification Manager, Arnold Laver, said:
"The webinar was great. Our team enjoyed it and found it highly informative. We'd all be interested in attending future sessions."
Each session is FREE for members (including the students of all university members) and costs just £30 + VAT for non-members of TRADA.
