Investment fund launched for digital and offsite innovations

The Transforming Construction Network Plus has launched a new round of funding for innovations in digital, offsite and eco-friendly technology.

Unveiled at the organisation's conference yesterday, the programme will provide up to £600,000 of funding for small research projects, in line with the expectations of the Industrial Strategy and the Transforming Construction Challenge.

The programme will support research projects focused on:

• Designing and managing buildings through digitally-enabled performance management

• Constructing quality buildings through an offsite manufacturing approach

• Reducing energy demand by improving quality of build and powering buildings through embedded active technologies.

The small projects programme follows an earlier funding call for projects from the network in February this year.

The Transforming Construction Network Plus is a joint project between The Bartlett, UCL's Faculty of the Built Environment, Imperial College London and WMG, University of Warwick.

The network is one of the investments in the Transforming Construction Challenge, the UK government's challenge to the construction industry and research communities to make buildings more affordable, efficient, safer and healthier. It is funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), an investment supported by the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF).
