Ilke Homes modular director raids Crest Nicholson for former staff

17th June, 2019

Modular homes specialist Ilke Homes has poached two Crest Nicholson employees to join their former boss Ben Miller.

Mr Miller, who spent 15 years at the housebuilder prior to joining Ilke as group managing director, has brought in Tom Heathcote and Tristin Willis from Crest.

Mr Heathcote will serve as Ilke's new group land and planning director. He joins the business with over 15 years' experience in the housebuilding industry, having been involved in the delivery large-scale residential and mixed-use developments across the country.

Mr Willis becomes the firm's group operations director. He joins having spent the past six years at Crest Nicholson; prior to that he had spells at Taylor Wimpey and Barratt.

Commenting on the appointments, the Ilke Homes executive chairman, David Sheridan said: "The company is poised to dramatically scale up its offer and I know from first-hand experience that they bring a wealth of knowledge, contacts, and skills to Ilke."

Last month, Ilke announced a £100m joint venture with Places for People to deliver 750 modular homes across the UK.

The arrangement sees the property management firm purchase 750 units from Ilke Homes, including 500 for sites Places for People already owns and 250 for new sites for which they will partner to develop a mixed tenure of housing.

The homes will be built using volumetric modular construction, which the JV claims will improve man-hour productivity by 80 per cent and lead to a reduction in onsite waste and snagging.
