Hollo-Bolts by Lindapter were specified for the modular construction of The Spurn Discovery Centre in East Yorkshire. Contractors used the Hollo-Bolts to connect the Structural Hollow Section (SHS) framework of the adjoining rooms together. The Hollo-Bolt was selected because of its high strength capacity and its range of independent technical accreditations, including the CE Mark approval. The Hollo-Bolt allowed a fast and convenient installation from one side only, using just standard hand tools, which resulted in an efficient construction schedule.
Lindapter will be launching its guide to connections for the modular and off-site construction industry on stand A1 at the Offsite Construction Show. The booklet explains how contractors can achieve an efficient installation by using Lindapter steelwork fixings.
The document uses case studies to demonstrate how Lindapter's range of steel-to-steel connections can be used for a variety of applications in the offsite and modular construction industries. Examples include connecting the structural hollow section frameworks of modular rooms together, balcony extensions, securing steel frameworks and attaching cable trays.
Since 1934 Lindapter has been pioneering steel connections that eliminate the need for 'hot working', meaning that there is no damage to the existing steelwork and no need for area closures or hot work permits.
