Golding Homes development to use factory-built homes

The scheme in Swanley is the housing association's first foray into factory-built homes

Kent-based housing association Golding Homes is to erect more than a dozen offsite-built homes at a new development in Swanley.

Golding has signed a deal with Keepmoat Homes and Ilke Homes to construct 13 homes for the housing association at its Yorkshire factory.

It is the first time Golding, which owns and manages more than 7,500 homes, has got involved in the offsite sector.

The housing association's director of development and sales Tom Casey said the build time would be "reduced dramatically" by using the factory method.

The scheme on St Mary's Road in Kent will feature 22 homes across a mix of affordable rent and shared-ownership.

Residents are expected to move into the three-bedroom houses and one- and two-bedroom flats soon after handover has completed, which is likely to be in April next year.

Keepmoat Homes and Ilke Homes are both owned by private equity firm TDR Capital.
