ecobuild 2018 to open with Offsite Awards

12th December, 2017

ecobuild 2018 is set to kick off by hosting the Offsite Construction Awards. The idea behind the awards is to celebrate the very best projects, people and innovations in the offsite sector.

The Offsite Construction Awards programme is designed to recognise outstanding examples of prefabrication and factory-based methods, products, systems and disciplines that increasingly strive to develop a sustainable, streamlined and cost-effective way to deliver a better built environment.

Darren Richards, Chairman of the Judging Panel and Managing Director of Cogent Consulting, organisers of the Awards, said: “Each year the Offsite Awards just get bigger and better. It is amazing to see the incredible projects that are being delivered using the broadest range of offsite manufactured technology across a wide range of sectors. Entries last year exceeded 200 and we are in no doubt that this will grow in 2018.”

Since the Offsite Construction Awards were created, nearly 500 projects have been entered, with nearly 70 having won an award. In 2018, the Offsite Construction Awards will see an additional six categories, recognising the role of architects, engineers, contractors and projects managers as well as the technology and manufacturing achievements.

Martin Hurn, Managing Director of Futurebuild Events, said: “Offsite construction is rapidly expanding and the opportunities in the sector are immense, so it’s a given that it’d be a big focus for ecobuild 2018. We are really excited to showcase so many projects that have excelled in their use of offsite technology and through them, illustrate the benefits of this innovation to the built environment”

Entries must be submitted online before Wednesday 3rd January 2018. The Offsite Construction Awards are free to enter.
