Countryside to build 300 MMC homes in Milton Keynes

MMC will be used to build the homes, 30% of which will be affordable

Countryside is to build 300 homes as part of a Homes England-backed development at Tattenhoe in Milton Keynes.

The housebuilder said it would use modern methods of construction to build the homes as part of the third phase of the scheme, with Homes England having provided the infrastructure for the mixed-use site.

Planning permission has been given for the development and construction is to begin shortly. It is due to be completed from the autumn of next year.

Just under a third of the homes, which will range from a mix of flats and one to five-bedroom houses, will be affordable.

The initial three phases on the scheme are due to deliver 580 homes.

The first phase was developed by David Wilson, while work on phase two was undertaken by Crest Nicholson.

Tattenhoe could eventually host more than 1,300 homes across the near-20-acre site, subject to planning.

Last month it was announced Countryside would build more than 160 homes at the Newhall development in Harlow, Essex (pictured above), after architect BPTW secured planning.

And last week the housebuilder reported that growth in the number of affordable and private rented sector homes completed in the first six months of the year had helped it to boost turnover by 20%.
