Lewisham Council has started the hunt for a contractor to build a “pop-up” village to provide temporary housing for local people.
The temporary homes will sit on the site for between one and four years and can then be moved to a different location.
The council has published an OJEU notice for the Ladywell Pop-Up Village contract on the site of a former leisure centre.
The contract covers “tenders for Design, Construction and potential redeployment of temporary housing/commercial units and associated works at the former Ladywell leisure centre site.”
Architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners have designed the 24-homes scheme which has an estimated value of £4.3m.
Work is scheduled to start in June with completion set for February 2016.
