BSRIA sponsored the MEP (mechanical electrical plumbing) and POD Technology Award at the Offsite Construction Awards (6thMarch 2018) at London’s ExCel venue.
Showcasing the very best of what the UK construction industry has to offer, the Offsite Construction Awards recognised the overall expertise in offsite construction through landmark projects, influential people, material and manufacturing excellence and celebrated the best in precision building design and delivery.
Offsite manufacture has been around for four years and aims to remove most of the construction process away from the construction site.
The awards honoured outstanding examples of prefabrication and factory-based methods, products, systems and disciplines that increasingly strive to develop a sustainable, streamlined and cost-effective way to deliver a better built environment.
Winners included SES Engineering Services (SES), who scooped the prize for ‘Best Use of MEP’ for the Quadram Institute in Norwich.
PCE won ‘Best Use of Concrete Technology’ for their Project Capella, whilst Brooke Homes took home the award for ‘Best Use of Timber Technology’ for their Capstone Green project.
