The Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) gives assurance to the lending community that innovatively constructed properties will stand the test of time. BOPAS focuses on ensuring that accredited organisations have robust systems and procedures underpinned by a risk-based approach that enable them to competently and safely deliver products or services that meet their clients' requirements.
Backed by industry
The scheme was developed by Buildoffsite, RICS, Lloyd's Register and Building LifePlans Ltd (BLP), in consultation with the Council of Mortgage Lenders and the Building Societies Association.
At Lloyd's Register, we accredit designers, manufacturers, and constructors involved in offsite manufactured systems together with BLP, through an audit process designed to give lenders the highest level of quality assurance.
The BOPAS assessment evaluates offsite organisations against best practice in terms of competency, configuration management, procurement arrangements and process control, across their business and on a project specific basis. All such processes are tested against the arrangements for sustaining integrity and quality of product/service delivery, dealing with environment and project changes and risk identification and mitigation.
What are the benefits of BOPAS accreditation?
• Clients can be confident that the products/services are delivered by defined processes that meet best practice
• Increases organisational effectiveness and enables benchmarking
• Risks are more effectively evaluated and understood – helping to avoid costly mistakes
• Competitive advantage - tender lists drawn from the accredited providers list on www.bopas.org
