Av Danzer design & build modular building for school

2nd November, 2015

Danzer designed and built this brand new modular school building for the school from their production facility in Nottingham. A high quality, robust building was specified, along with outdoor learning space which could be built and installed as quickly as possible, and with minimum disruption to school life. While off-site construction was underway Danzer demolished and removed an old school building which was no longer fit for purpose.

AV Danzer undertook extensive ground works, including ground reduction, building an 80 metre retaining wall, putting in new drainage and duct work. By the time this work was completed the building was ready for transportation and was installed and commissioned by Danzer's trusted team. The building was finished with thermo-wood horizontal cladding, PIR lighting and double glazed windows and doors to the highest environmental standards.

There were some major access constraints on this site which Danzer overcame by demolishing a wall and installing a temporary steel stair-case to allow access from a neighbouring housing estate. This work was undertaken by our specialist team with the minimum of disruption and was done following the highest health and safety standards. Commenting on the project Danzer Ltd’s Dan Holloway said: “The Dog Kennel project was especially interesting as the school specified an unusual freestanding canopy which needed a creative solution. While the building was being made off-site we were able to undertake all of the ground works, which ensured a swift installation once the building was delivered. We were delighted to be invited back to the school to take part in the opening celebrations just in time for the start of the new term.”
